OPN Best Online Rakeback Deals
What is rake?
Poker rooms both online and offline make their money from something called ”rake”. That is the small portion of money that is deducted from the pot after it is won by any player. The rake is usually around 5% of the total pot size. How much that becomes in money varies depending on the limit, but the standard rake is between $0.05 and $3.
What is rakeback?
Rakeback is when players get some of their rake refunded and it is usually a percentage of the total rake. If a player has a 25% rakeback deal, and pay $1000 in rake in a month, he will get $250 back. That is basically what rakeback is all about. The higher the percentage is the more money players get back.
How do I get Poker rakeback?
Sometimes you can get rake back directly from the poker room. If that is the case you don’t have to do anything, just carry on playing. But most of the times the poker rooms don’t give out rakeback, they obviously earn more money that way. If they don’t offer rakeback you have to go through an affiliate. That is someone who refers players to the poker rooms and earns money from taking a small portion of the referrals’ rakeback. Those deals are often much better than the ones the poker rooms offer directly to the players, and with some deals you can actually get half of your rake transferred back to you.
Why is rakeback good?
If you already play poker, rake back is the same as free money. If you are an above average player you still win money from your opponents, you can still clear bonuses, and on top of that you will get a large portion of your rake refunded to you. The rake is often very high, especially at low and mid limit games. If you want to make a profit from playing poker and want to build a bankroll, rakeback is often necessary.
What if I already have an account with the poker room?
Usually you are not allowed do start a new account with a poker room where you have a previous account. Maybe you are a winning player in the poker room where you play at the moment and want to stick around. That problem can often be solved pretty easily. Poker rooms are usually part of bigger networks, you can therefore sign up with another room in the same network. You can then carry on playing against the same opponents, but with rakeback rolling in.
